Robotics Business Review Names ULC Robotics, Inc. as One of the
Top 50 Most Noteworthy Global Robotics Companies for 2016

Hauppauge, NY, March 4, 2016  ULC Robotics, Inc., a leading developer of robotic technology and services for the energy and utility industries, has been named as one the top 50 most influential companies in the global robotics industry for 2016 by Robotics Business Review.

The companies included on the RBR50 list are chosen based on their innovation, groundbreaking applications, commercial success and potential, and represent many different levels and facets of the robotics ecosystem.

“We are proud to be a part of the RBR50 and acknowledged as a leader in robotics,” said Gregory Penza, President and CEO.  “ULC Robotics has taken great strides in developing new, advanced robotic technologies, applications and processes to help our clients safely and reliably operate their vital energy infrastructure. Being included on the list is a reflection of the growing interest energy and utility companies have in the pipeline robotics industry. Because of this increased interest, we are able to innovate and improve the way energy infrastructure is inspected and maintained.”

In 2015, ULC built and deployed additional CISBOT robots and crews in the US and UK to meet increased demand by gas distribution utilities. The company also completed the development and successful field testing of the CIRRIS XI™ Inspection Robot and CIRRIS XR™ Repair Robot, a robotic system that conducts internal assessments of the pipeline wall and renews multiple types of joints to stop and prevent gas leaks in live gas pipelines.  These innovative advancements, along with the completion of multiple prototype robots helped to secure ULC Robotics on the RBR50 by Robotics Business Review.

The 2016 RBR50 List is an international compilation of the most influential robotics companies that spans 11 countries and in addition to the large conglomerates, 23% of the list is comprised of lesser-known startups. The list is dynamic, with robotics companies entering and leaving on an annual basis and thus creating a list that is indicative of where the global robotics industry as a whole is headed.

“The use of pipeline robotics will become a necessity as cities around the globe begin to evolve. ULC Robotics is a rising powerhouse in the industry and their robotic technology is changing the way energy companies deliver safe, reliable energy to their customers,” said Tom Green, Editor in Chief of Robotics Business Review.

As a key developer of trenchless technology and pipeline robotics, ULC is excited to be included on the RBR50 among esteemed companies such as ABB, Amazon, Samsung, iRobot and Alphabet, Inc.
